The San Diego based metal group Shawshank has crafted a sound and musical structure unique to the movement of young acts making their mark on metal. Shawshank’s music can be best described as intelligent, ambitious and experimental with their use of vivid studio production of technical color that creates a backdrop for their fierce intensity. In the truest sense of creating art, the band’s passionate design aesthetic exudes a youthful flamboyance in their music and lives that attracts fans from across varied genre borders.
 

Shawshank’s broad musical sensibilities are showcased on their latest work, the 2022 EP “Kamakura”, mixed and mastered by Tue Madsen with additional mixing by Jeff Dunne ("Fashion"). The EP feature’s the single's “Lotus” (featuring Ryo Kinoshita of Crystal Lake) and “Fashion” (featuring Frankie Palmeri of Emmure). The band's previous release, the 2019 EP "Judgement Day", mixed by Casey Lagos and mastered by Blake Lagrange, features the single, "Money Talks".
